Welcome to cfiforensics.com (the “Site”), owned and operated by California Forensic Institute, Inc., doing business as CFI Forensics (“CFI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Site, including all content, videos, podcasts, and services made available through it. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About CFI

CFI provides pre-employment screening, background check coordination, law enforcement research, fitness-for-duty evaluations, officer-involved shooting (OIS) evaluations, therapy referral services for first responders, and related educational content (videos and podcasts) to law enforcement agencies, employers, and the public. The Site is intended to provide general information about these services; it does not itself deliver clinical, psychological, legal, or investigative services.

2. No Professional, Medical, or Legal Advice

The videos, podcasts, articles, and other content on the Site — including content addressing PTSD, mental health, stress, and related topics — are provided for general educational and informational purposes only. They do not constitute psychological, medical, legal, or professional advice, and do not create a therapist-client, doctor-patient, or attorney-client relationship between you and CFI or any individual featured on the Site (including Dr. Jana Price-Sharps or any guest). Always seek the advice of a qualified professional with any questions you may have regarding a medical or mental health condition, and never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you saw or read on the Site. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, contact 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or your local emergency services.

3. Use of the Contact Form

The Site includes a contact form for general inquiries. Submitting the form does not establish a client relationship, engage CFI for services, or guarantee a response within any particular timeframe. Do not submit sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, medical records, or financial account information) through the contact form.

4. Intellectual Property

The Site and its contents — including the CFI name and logo, text, graphics, videos, podcast episodes, and design — are owned by CFI or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The CFI logo is a trademark of California Forensic Institute, Inc. You may view and share content from the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes, but you may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from Site content without our prior written permission, except as permitted by law.

5. Third-Party Content and Links

The Site links to or embeds content hosted by third-party platforms, including Buzzsprout (podcast hosting), YouTube, and Facebook. These platforms operate under their own terms of use and privacy policies, which we do not control. Your interactions with those platforms are governed by their respective terms, and CFI is not responsible for their content or practices.

6. Acceptable Use

When using the Site, you agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, or any connected systems;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s operation (including through malware, scraping, or automated access);
• Impersonate any person or entity or submit false information through the contact form.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. CFI does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that content is accurate, complete, or current.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CFI and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site, even if CFI has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CFI, its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Fresno County, California.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective Date” above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
